Insight Society Services CIC, supported by Smallwood Trust, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life for women who are blind or partially sighted.
Through a range of targeted services and programmes, the organisation strives to empower and support these individuals, fostering greater independence and inclusion in society.
We are particularly dedicated to supporting Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) women who are blind or partially sighted and speak English as a second language.
The challenges individuals face, particularly in light of rising living costs, are well-recognised. The hardships associated with unemployment, navigating benefit systems, and the demands of motherhood are understood. The focus is on providing targeted support to address these issues, helping individuals overcome barriers and improve their overall well-being.
This project aims to support women to take control of their household finances by offering practical advice on budgeting, energy management, and cost-saving techniques including advice on utilising leftover food to reduce the need for foodbank assistance.
Our services are designed to empower blind and partially sighted women by creating opportunities for connection, independence, and personal growth.
Vital emergency provisions such as food, clothing, welfare packs, and sanitary products are supplied to women in need. This initiative aims to ensure that women have access to essential resources during times of crisis, supporting their well-being and dignity in difficult situations. We also host regular social groups and organise a variety of activities to combat isolation and cultivate a strong sense of community. Additionally, we provide practical training to enhance daily living skills. We also offer tailored financial guidance, helping women navigate challenges and achieve greater stability. Our goal is to ease strain and provide the tools necessary for making informed, sustainable choices.
Support is also provided for women with any specific needs or tasks they feel require assistance. Whether it’s daily activities, financial or personal challenges, or unique circumstances, help is offered to ensure they receive the guidance and resources necessary to improve their well-being.
